Beckman Coulter declared the Vi-CELL XR obsolete as of December 31, 2022, and has said service and support are expected to continue through December 2027. Thousands of XR analyzers are still in daily use in cell culture, bioprocessing and research labs. Cell Viability Inc. makes compatible reagent packs and parts so you can keep using the instrument you already own and have validated.
This single reagent pack gives you everything the Vi-CELL XR needs for automated trypan blue viability testing, in a smaller format suited to lower-throughput labs, validation runs, or backup stock.

Is this reagent pack compatible with my Vi-CELL XR?
Yes. It installs in the Vi-CELL XR reagent bay exactly like the OEM single pack and works with the standard Vi-CELL XR software. No settings changes are needed.
Is this a Beckman Coulter product?
No. Cell Viability Inc. makes it independently as a compatible alternative. Vi-CELL is a registered trademark of Beckman Coulter, Inc.
How many samples does one pack run?
About 200 samples, depending on your cell type settings and number of images per sample.
Will my results match OEM reagents?
Our reagents are made to the same functional specifications. Comparison data is on our Certificates page, and we recommend running a few parallel samples as part of your normal change control.
Can I still buy reagents after Beckman ends Vi-CELL XR support in 2027?
Cell Viability Inc. plans to keep making Vi-CELL XR reagents and parts for the installed base. Contact us about standing orders or bulk supply.
What is the difference between the Single Pack and the Quad Pack?
The reagents are the same. The Single Pack has 1 reagent pack and 200 cups. The Quad Pack has 4 reagent packs and 800 cups, at a lower cost per sample.
